Applications of Allyltrimethylsilane |
As an allylation agent, reaction with aldehydes and ketones: In the presence of Lewis acid catalysts, allyltrimethylsilane can react with aldehydes and ketones to undergo nucleophilic addition reactions, introduce allyl groups at the α-position of the carbonyl group, and generate corresponding homoallylic alcohol compounds. For example, it reacts with cyclohexanone to obtain 1-allylcyclohexanol. Reaction with acetal derivatives: It can selectively introduce allyl groups on the ring with esters of cyclic acetals or cyclic hemiacetals. The reaction conditions are mild and generally have no significant effect on other functional groups. It can be used to construct multifunctional complex organic molecules. Reaction with ene ammonium ions: Cyclic amine compounds with hydroxyl or halogen at the ortho position generate ene ammonium ions under the action of Lewis acid catalysts, which can be attacked by allyltrimethylsilane nucleophilically to introduce allyl groups on the ring. |
